Different Types of Bridge Cranes

2025-05-09
There are several different types of bridge cranes, each tailored to meet specific operational needs.

One of the most common types is the single girder bridge crane. This crane features a single beam that supports the hoist and is ideal for lighter loads. Its compact design makes it suitable for smaller facilities where space is a premium.

In contrast, the double girder bridge crane is designed for heavier loads. This type features two parallel beams, providing greater stability and lifting capacity. Double girder cranes are commonly used in manufacturing plants and warehouses where heavy machinery or materials need to be moved frequently.

Another variation is the top-running bridge crane, which runs on the top of the runway beams. This design allows for maximum lifting height and is often used in large industrial environments. Conversely, the under-running bridge crane operates from below the runway beams, making it suitable for facilities with lower ceilings and offering a more flexible layout.
